Four men have been arrested by the St. Martin Sheriff's Office after deputies responded late Saturday night to gunfire that was on Zin Zin Road in the parish.

State Police and multiple St. Martin law enforcement agencies responded to disburse a large crowd where the gunfire happened.

While no one was injured in this melee, four suspects were charged with multiple drug and firearms violations after police found a car that witnesses had described as being at the scene.

Police arrested were 17-year old Jeremiah Robertson, 25-year old Brandon Prejean, and 20-year old Daquan Arceneaux, all of Lafayette, along with 22-year old Travian Jones of New Iberia.

Jeremiah Robertson of Lafayette,17, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana)
  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (synthetic marijuana)
  • Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (two counts)
  • Two counts of being in a Drug Free Zone
  • Transactions Involving proceeds from Drug Offenses
  • Aggravated Assault with a Firearm upon a Peace Officer
  • Obstruction of a Public Passage
  • Driver Must be Licensed

Brandon Prejean of Lafayette, 25, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana)
  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (synthetic marijuana)
  • Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (two counts)
  • Two counts of being in a Drug Free Zone
  • Transactions Involving proceeds from Drug Offenses

Daquan Arceneaux of Lafayette, 20, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana)
  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (synthetic marijuana)
  • Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (two counts)
  • Two counts of being in a Drug Free Zone
  • Transactions Involving proceeds from Drug Offenses

Travian Jones of New Iberia, 22, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana)
  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (synthetic marijuana)
  • Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (two counts)
  • Two counts of being in a Drug Free Zone
  • Transactions Involving proceeds from Drug Offenses

 

All were booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail, and the investigation continues.
