Ford Recalls SUV’s and Minivans

Ford Motor Company has recalled over half a million vehicles worldwide. According to a Ford spokesman, the recall includes 2001 and 2001 Ford Escape SUV's and 2004 and 2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans.

It is also said they have no knowledge of accident or injury in the Escape vehicles and two minor accidents involving the minivans. The risk statement mentions possible "fire and loss of power" involving the brake master cylinder cap in the Escape or torque converter output shaft in the minivans.  If you'd like to know if your vehicle is included in the recall, you can enter your VIN number on Ford's website.
