Fired Pilot Wears Uniform To Dodge Security, Sues Airline
New Orleans resident Joshu Osmanski was fired from his job as an airline pilot for honoring his obligation to the US Navy. He was terminated by Cathay Pacific Airways after taking unpaid leave to participate in reserve drills as a fighter pilot. Several months after being fired, AP reports, Osmanski wore his airline uniform in an effort to skirt security at Honolulu International Airport. He has been sentenced to three years probation for unlawfully entering the secure area of an airport. Osmanski has filed suit Against Cathay Pacific alleging discrimination in violation of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. He is currently a student at Tulane University.
