If you're looking for temporary work, FEMA is in need of people to assist in disaster recovery efforts throughout the state.

KATC reports that the Louisiana Workforce Commission is looking to fill positions in Louisiana. These are full-time jobs with temporary durations, and include benefits like health insurance, sick leave and holiday pay. Durations vary, but some may last as long as FEMA is assisting with recovery. All benefits are temporary as well.

FEMA is looking for a wide variety of skilled workers, including administrative assistants, construction cost estimators, construction tradespersons, drivers, environmental experts, facilities workers, historic preservation specialists, travel agents and workers in many other specialties. Applicants will receive appropriate on-the-job training.
