FDA Halts Orange Juice Imports
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is halting shipments of orange juice and screening juice being sold in the U.S. due to concerns about an illegal fungicide.
The substance is used to fight mold and it was found in juice imported from Brazil. The FDA found levels that are below the level considered dangerous. A spokesman for Brazil's citrus growers says the fungicide in question is widely accepted for use on other crops, including apples.
