UPDATE: Victim Identified In Fatal Crash On Gloria Switch Road

UPDATE:The victim in this morning's fatal motorcycle crash has been identified as Cody Lavergne of Church Point.

UPDATE: The roadway is now open.

Lafayette Police say a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle took the life of a 38-year-old Church Point man.

Police say the crash happened around 2:30 this morning when motorcycle driver went of the roadway and hit a culvert.

The man was thrown from his bike, and he died an area hospital.

The area of the roadway on East Gloria Switch between the Northeast Evangeline Thruway and Amesbury will be closed for another two hours, as investigators are working at the crash scene.
