Fan Offers $1Million Reward For Dorothy’s Stolen Ruby Slippers [Video]

"The Wizard of Oz" is one of the best loved movies of all time. Multiple generations have viewed it. It's also been adapted for the stage. There have been animated versions, and spinoff stories inspired by the 1939 classic. My 4th grade class performed it on stage. I played the Wizard. Numerous internet memes have jokingly compared the film to "Black Friday", because it's about women trying to kill each other over shoes.

Dorothy's Ruby slippers are apparently worth a million dollars to one fan. Judy Garland wore four pairs of the shoes in the movie. One pair was stolen from the Judy Garland museum in Grand Rapids 10 years ago. Review Journal reports, someone described simply as "a fan" has offered a 1 million dollar reward for their recovery.
