The NFL is probing the Atlanta Falcons for using faux crowd noise at the Georgia Dome during games, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

According to Schefter's report, the Falcons are being investigated for piping in fake crowd noise through the sound system when opponents huddled up on offense.

A Falcons team spokesman released the following statement regarding the investigation.

"We were informed during the season that the league office is looking into crowd noise during our games. We have cooperated fully with them, and we're awaiting the outcome."

Atlanta has long been criticized for having subpar fan bases for their professional franchises. If this investigation comes to fruition, it will be another knack against Atlanta sports fans.

Schefter reports through a source the Falcons are expected to be disciplined with a fine and possibly the loss of a draft pick.
