New Jeanerette Youth Beautification Committee Schedules Clean Up

The Jeanerette YBC (Youth Beautification Committee) has scheduled their first clean up event to beautify the city January 18, 2014. All of Martin Luther King Drive in Jeanerette will be cleaned in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and to beautify the drive for the upcoming parade to be held on Jan. 19, 2014.
Founded by a Jeanerette High School junior, Oscar Vargas, the Jeanerette YBC is comprised of youth volunteers and will concentrate on cleaning and beautifying the city of Jeanerette. "The Jeanerette YBC is youth envisioned, youth motivated and youth action", Vargas said. "By motivating our youth now, we make a change that will impact our city for generations to come."
