LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency) is excited to host the Caliente 5k Run for THEIR Lives on Saturday April 13, 2013. LOPA’s 5K Run/Walk and One Mile Fun Run begins at 8am at The Pool Shoppe and Sombreros in Opelousas, at Creswell Lane. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for male and female overall and 1st place winners for male and female Masters. Team participation is encouraged. Individual participants and teams can register online at www.lopa.org.
Every year, Run for THEIR Lives honors organ and tissue donors and their families and celebrates with recipients who have received the Gift of Life. With over 1,700 people in Louisiana waiting on a life-saving organ transplant, LOPA’s mission is simple – help save lives through organ and tissue donation.
Pre-registration entry fee is $25.00 until March 31st. The cost of event day registration is $30.00. All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a Caliente 5K Run for THEIR Lives t-shirt. For more information on donation, visit www.lopa.org.
