Lafayette Professional Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Event

The Lafayette Professional Firefighters Association will be hosting a 9/11 memorial stair climb at Chase Towers on September 7, 2013 at 9:11 AM. This event is not a race, but an opportunity to honor and remember the 343 FDNY members who selflessly gave their lives on 9-11-2001. The event will included Firefighters, Police Officers, EMS Personnel, and General Public from all over The Great State of Louisiana and its surrounding areas.

You are invited to come out and support the event by participating in the climb or simply showing your moral support.

There will be a jambalaya cook off, raffle, door prizes, silent auction, kid’s activities, and much more. Registrations can be found online at www.9-11stairclimb.com. On the morning of September 7th registered Teams of 1 to 6 climbers will convene in Chase Towers to climb 110 stories as a tribute to our fallen heroes. Your team may choose to climb all together or do a relay event. Each climber carries the photograph and biographical sketch of a firefighter who was lost on September 11, 2001. Firefighters are encouraged to wear full turnout gear with SCBA. Firefighters and Police Officers may bring equipment or search and rescue dogs. All equipment must be provided by climbers.
