In some colder climates, people actually celebrate winter by jumping into icy waters for the Polar Bear Plunge on the coldest day of the year. In South Louisiana, we do just the opposite. On the hottest day of the year, we're jumping in by doing what we do best. We are throwing a party!
This party is also a Pickup Pool Party! No pool, no problem! Tap into that famous Cajun ingenuity and bring your truck and compete in the contest for the best Pickup Pool prize. We're offering limited spots for you to park your pickup and enjoy the show from your own private pickup pool. To help us throw this party, companies are invited to showcase their coolness by reserving one of only fifteen spots in the Big Splash category for a $210 sponsorship. Don't own a company but think you can build the best pool party? We're holding fifteen additional private spots for $110 each in the Little Splash category. Even that's not the best part. The crowd favorite winner in each category gets a sweet pickup pool trophy, the option to have their entry fee returned and exclusive bragging rights until we do it all again next year!
Downtown Lafayette and Townsquare Media are celebrating the hottest night of the year, August 23rd, with a family-friendly, summer blowout party at Parc Sans Souci from 7pm-10pm. Embrace the heat with water slides, fire dancers, the fountain, cold beverages and treats plus a few more hot surprises! The party kicks off with the hottest summer playlist! Then, after the sun goes down, things really heat up with an exclusive live performance from Acadiana's #1 Live Performance Band, One Trick Pony playing everything you want to hear! Don't worry, you won't have to burn money to come, admission is free!
