On February 25th, 2008, Fest for Vest founder Mr. Hidalgo, lost his step-son K-9 Officer Mark Beck. Since that time, Mr. Hidalgo traveled around the state of Louisiana and noticed that smaller department's Officers could not afford vests due to a lack of funding. This is when the need for this foundation became a reality.

That day we will also have a Pork and Sausage Jambalaya Cook Off for a entry fee of $50.00 a team. Also if anyone would like to have a craft, jewelry etc. booth the fee is $25.00 forms for both can be picked up at the Port Barre Police Department or please message us and we can mail you what you need.
