American Cancer Society Relay for Life Kicks Off Tonight

Today, October 16 is the 20th Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Lafayette at the Crowne Plaza. The rally will feature speakers from the community who have benefited from the funds raised at Relay For Life and will honor cancer survivors.
Relay For Life began in 1985 with one man who walked and ran around a track for 24 hours and raised $27,000 for the American Cancer Society. Each year, Relay For Life takes places in 5,200 communities in America and 20 other countries to raise funds to support the Society's mission of saving lives by helping people stay well, get well, and finding cures and fighting back.
