A Ville Platte woman was killed early Christmas morning in a single-vehicle crash in Evangeline Parish.

Master Trooper Brooks David with Louisiana State Police said 24-year-old Allison Gremilion was killed when she drove her car off of the road while traveling on Le Bois D'Arc Road west of U.S. 167.

Upon leaving the roadway, the vehicle entered a ditch and overturned after hitting an embankment.

Gremilion--who was not wearing a seat belt--was partially ejected. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown if impairment is a factor in the crash. Toxicology samples were taken from Gremillion and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

This crash remains under investigation.
