School Board, District 5

Republican David Lalande defeated No Party candidate Blane Harmon by garnering 59% of the vote (640 votes) to 41% of the vote (443 votes).

Mermentau Chief of Police

Democrat Patrick Breaux defeated Republican Justin Kershaw by garnering 83% of the vote (64 votes) to 13% of the vote (13 votes).

EVANGELINE PARISH

Turkey Creek Police Chief Proposition

The people of Turkey Creek voted down the proposition that would have allowed the Mayor of Turkey Creek, with the approval of the Turkey Creek Village Council, to bed authorized to appoint a marshal who is the Chief of Police for the Turkey Creek. It was rejected by a 73% No vote (64 votes). Only 24 votes were casted in favor of the proposal.

IBERIA PARISH

School Board, District 4

Democrat Thomas Jolivet defeated Democrat Zebulon "Zeb" Simon by garnering 63% of the votes (253 votes) to 37% of the vote (149 votes).

Sales Tax District No. 1 Proposition (Sales Tax) AND Iberia Parish Levee, Hurricane and Conservation District Proposition (5-Millage Property Tax)

The people voted down two tax proposals that would have helped to fund a 26-mile levee to hold back storm surges in the parish. The taxes, if approved, were expected to generate around $7 million dollars each year for the levee project. The total cost of the project was expected to be around $420 million.

The Sales Tax District No. 1 Proposition (Sales Tax) was defeated 53% (1,961 No votes) to 47% (1,754 Yes votes).

The Iberia Parish Levee, Hurricane and Conservation District Proposition (5-Millage Property Tax) was rejected by an incredibly narrow margin, only 8 votes. 1,868 people voted against the proposal, while 1,856 people voted for it.

JEFF DAVIS PARISH

Jennings Mayor

Democrat Terry Duhon defeated Democrat Marcus Peterson by garnering 56% of the vote (1,014 votes) to 44% of the vote (800 votes).

ST. LANDRY PARISH

Grand Coteau Mayor

Democrat Virginia Pierre defeated Democrat Shaterral "Terra" Johnson by garnering 72% of the vote (260 votes) to 28% of the vote (103 votes).

VERMILION PARISH

Gueydan Board of Alderman, At-large

No Party candidate Marilyn Campbell defeated Republican Angela "Angie" Touchet by garnering 55% of the vote (111 votes) to 45% of the vote (91 votes).
