East Baton Rouge Deputy Shot Saturday Night [UPDATE]

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Department has confirmed that a deputy was shot late Saturday night in Baton Rouge.

According to reports, the deputy was shot around 11pm on Hatters Avenue in Baton Rouge. The deputy was taken to a medical facility in critical condition.

The name of the deputy has not yet been released.

UPDATE: The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reports that deputy who was shot last night has died. The deputy was conducting an investigation at a barber shop when he was shot. The suspect was also shot and is being treated at a Baton Rouge medical facility.

UPDATE: The Sheriff's Deputy killed in EBR Saturday has been identified as Sergeant Shawn Thomas Anderson. He was reportedly investigating a report of a rape at a barber shop.
