The Lafayette Parish School Board will take a look at proposed changes to the dress code that could reduce high school students clothing options. The School Board will look at the proposal on Wednesday and say that a vote could happen as early as April.

The recommendations that came from the system's discipline committee would limit the colors of students clothing. Students would be allowed to wear khaki skirts, shorts or long pants with one specific color option for shirts, sweatshirts, or hoodies.

The school-specific colors for shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies would be:

Acadiana: Hunter green
Carencro: Navy
Comeaux: Navy
Thibodaux STEM: Royal blue
Lafayette High: Black
Northside: Red
Early College Academy: Not applicable

No changes have been discussed for elementary and middle school dress codes.
