A voluntary recall of Pedigree Complete Adult dry dog food due to the "possible presence of a foreign material." Twenty-two bags are affected, but they were sold in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee at Dollar General stores between August 18th and 25th, 2014.  The fifteen pound bags may contain small metal fragments, which could have entered the packages during the production process. The fragments are not embedded in the food itself, but could be dangerous if consumed. Mars Petcare US says customers who purchased the affected products should either discard the food or return it to the store where purchased for a full refund or exchange. No reports of injury or illness have been reported. Any remaining bags still on store shelves will be removed.

Each affected bag has a lot code on the back of the bag near the UPC code that reads 432C1KKM03 and a Best Before date of 8/5/15.
