The most popular cosmetic surgery in America is breast augmentation, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. More than a quarter million American women have the procedure every year. The New York Post reports, an increasing number are regretting it. Stephanie March, formerly of "Law & Order SVU," wrote in Refinery29,  “I decided to change my body because I couldn’t change my life.” She developed an allergic reaction, and they burst. Insurance consultant Jessica Pena says, “I’m an introvert, and I hated how my new 36Cs got constant attention.” I have several friends who've had the procedure. I asked all of them why. Every response was essentially the same. They did it to bolster their self esteem. There's an old adage that women strive to be beautiful, not for men, but themselves & each other. If you get bigger "girls," you'll get an elevated level of attention from men & you can't choose your admirers. The procedure is expensive. The recovery period is long & they'll have to be replaced in about 10 years.
