The annual Lafayette Economic Development Authority will be hosting their annual Tuesday, May 12, from 9 in the morning until 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

The LEDA job fair will be held at the Cajundome Convention Center.

This event will offer a variety of different companies looking to recruit job seekers to their companies. 111 companies are registered for tomorrow's event.

LEDA President and CEO Gregg Gothreaux says,

"LEDA works diligently to secure a good cross-section of employers, reflective of the region's business base. These companies offer jobs ranging from entry-level to executive, from those needing little training to those requiring advanced degrees."

 

The job fair is free and open to anyone looking for employments.

Some advice for candidates includes:

  • Dress professionally
  • Bring copies of resumes

The event also will feature several free seminars from the following:

  • Laurie J. James @ 10 a.m. will present, "I’ve Submitted a Resume...Now What?"
  • Facet @ 11 a.m. will tell participants about "Preparing for Different Types of Interviews"
  • Danielle Dayries will share, "How to Write a Powerful Résumé"
