So we recently heard that Lemonheads were Louisiana's favorite candy (really? Lemonheads?), and I wasn't surprised to see that Candy Corn was NOT in the top 3.

Honestly, I would put Candy Corn in the bottom 3, along with black licorice and chocolate mint anything.

The other day I posted a question on Facebook, asking people what they did NOT like about Halloween and, as a joke, included the phrase (besides Candy Corn).  Well, the response to that added quip about Candy Corn surprised me: lots of people like Candy Corn.

The thing about Candy Corn is this: it tastes nothing like corn. Granted, chocolate bunnies taste nothing like real bunnies but, given the title, we know that it will taste like chocolate (CHOCOLATE bunnies; the name adequately describes what's in the package).  But Candy CORN? It's supposed to be candy that tastes like corn, according to the name, right? The only thing strange about that is that the candy tastes NOTHING like corn (but, strangely enough, it tastes EXACTLY like NOTHING!).

So how many people like Candy Corn? Well, according to my highly unscientific research, it appears that 250 (at the time of this posting) comments were left  in response to my question, with a total of 74 coming in with a "No Candy Corn for me, thank you" vote, which means that the other 176 people actually allow this candy, described by one of my friends (real friend, not just Facebook friend) as tasting "like wax-covered regret" to enter their digestive system.

70% of the people who responded to my totally unscientific poll like Candy Corn. 70% I would have never guessed that number to be so high.  (I wonder if those same people like tomatoes in their gumbo??)
