One of the hottest Christmas gifts of 2014 is not an item you can easily purchase by visiting a local store and it isn't cheap. Take heart, though; you might already own one and can turn it into some holiday cash for your own gift purchasing needs.

The Apple iPod Classic, discontinued by Apple this past October, is fetching big money on eBay, with some units going for upwards of $900. The reason? “There’s still a huge affection for the iPod Classic and it’s not hard to see why – Spotify might offer 20 million songs, but 120GB of music is more than most people need, and your iTunes library doesn’t carry data charges or a subscription fee," explains Stuff Magazine editor Will Dunn via Fox News, who predicted the iPod would not go easily into that good digital night.

Apple discontinued the iPod Classic because it no longer had access to the necessary parts to build the device and a redesign with new parts was no longer practical in today's market.

If you're looking to get some quick and possibly substantial holiday bucks, dig out that old iPod and see if you can't flip it on eBay or Amazon.
