Deputies Warning People To Stay Off Flooded Roads In New Iberia
Tropical Storm Harvey continues to dump unprecedented rain on the Texas coast, and has started his deluge over Louisiana. As a result, Acadiana is already starting to deal with flooding roadways. Deputies in New Iberia have just issued a statement telling residents to "stay off of flooded roads."
According to KATC Major Wendell Raborn, spokesman for the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, reports some streets in New Iberia are .holding water.
Raborn tells KATC that "Drivers who operate their vehicles in these areas and cause damage to homes and businesses will be arrested. We have had several complaints about drivers in jacked up pickups speeding in these areas."
