Deb’s Review : ‘Rock of Ages’

Bernie and I went to see 'Rock of Ages' over the weekend. I hadn't read any of the reviews or any of the production hype, so I went in with no idea what to expect. I must admit, though, that the idea of turning '80's metal into a sing-a-long didn't seem quite right to me.The love story between the two lead characters is sweet, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand are pretty funny, and Tom Cruise does a good send-up of a rock god. If you're looking for a fun movie with 'Glee'-like covers, you'll love 'Rock of Ages'. If you're in it for the  music, listen to the original recordings. Look for Constantine Maroulis from American Idol in the board room scene, and Debbie Gibson and Sebastian Bach in the protest scene outside the Bourbon Club.
