It's a pleasure to report stories like this one. Andy Tanner won't give up! The 26 year old Texan is making his fifth attempt to crack the New Orleans Saints' roster. He's come to training camp every year since 2010. Tanner has been released, cut or waived by the Saints 34 times, yet he doggedly refuses to give up on his dream of playing in the NFL. The Saints conclude "OTA's" Thursday. The advocate reports, Tanner will go to his fifth training camp July 24th.
Wide receivers coach Henry Ellard says, “Andy’s unselfish and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team out. He’s been doing that the last four years. It’s all about the team for him. He’s going to do whatever it takes to help the team win." Making a team that's as stacked at wide receiver as the Saints will be a tall order. Tanner is undeterred.
“I’ll keep trying until I know its over, and they’re going to have to tell me it’s over. They’re going to have to drag me out of this building kicking and screaming. I have a no-quit mentality. That’s been one of my mottoes. You set a goal and go for it and don’t quit."    -Andy Tanner

Good luck, Andy!
