Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has run afoul of league officials in the past by signing independent Marketing deals with Coca- Cola, and Nike. Pepsi is the official soft drink of the NFL, and Reebok was the shoe & apparel sponsor at that time.
It appears the maverick owner of "America's Team" (Where did that come from anyway?) may be "stepping in it" again. Sources say Jones has gone off the reservation once more. The Cowboys will reportedly announce an independent TV deal. The NFL currently has contracts with 5 TV networks.

The Cowboys, winners of Super Bowls, VI, XII, XXVII, XXVIII, & XXX haven't been to the big dance in 18 years, and have been consistent under achievers in recent years. The 'Boys Defense suffered the worst lambasting in franchise history at the hands of the New Orleans Saints Sunday night on NBC.

The Saints defense led by fired Cowboys coordinator Rob Ryan, held the Cowboys to 17 points, & no successful third down conversions, while the offense set multiple records.

This may have been the last straw for Jones. It's rumored the NFL's Dallas franchise will announce an exclusive deal with the History Channel because their fans are living in the past.
