CVS pharmacies announced months ago that it planned to remove all tobacco products from its shelves, and this week, one month ahead of schedule, they did just that.

According to Forbes, CVS also changed its name from "CVS/Caremark" to "CVS Health".  As part of the re-branding, they removed the tobacco products because they want to "change the future health of Americans", and felt that they couldn't do that AND sell tobacco products.  They company estimates that move will cost them about $2 billion in lost revenue.

Walgreens stated that it was not going to follow CVS' lead by removing tobacco products; instead, they said that they would concentrating on helping customers quit.  How are they going to do that?  By selling them cigarettes, I am guessing.  I don't understand their logic, but what do I know?  I'm just a dj.
