Crews Search For Missing Boater In Vermilion Bay

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries officials are currently searching for a missing boater in Vermilion Bay.

Our news partner, KATC, reported a boat capsized near Oak's Canal near the north shore of Vermilion Bay at around noon today.

One person onboard was rescued by another boater after he was found clinging to an ice chest.

The boater who came to the rescue notified authorities to the emergency situation.

The missing boater was reportedly wearing a life vest before the boat capsized.
