Youngsville Councilman Matt Romero spoke with Rob and Bernie on Acadiana's Morning news about the City Council's tasks of protecting the safety of Acadiana and Louisiana'a fastest growing municipality.

Romero said the Youngsville Fire Department has "taken the back seat" to the city's police department, but the council is making moves to fund the growing city's fire protection.

At last night's Youngsville City Council meeting, Mayor Ken Ritter suggested, and the council subsequently approved, ear marking $300,000 to fund growth within the Youngsville fire department.
