Competitor Responds To Turing Drug Price Hike With $1 Pill
When New York hedge fund manager Martin Shkrelli formed Turing Pharmaceuticals, and raised the price of Daraprim from $13.50 a pill to $750.00, it sparked a public outrage. The drug is used to fight parasitic infections in patients with HIV, malaria, and cancer. USA Today reports, a competitor is offering a far more reasonably priced alternative. Imprimis Pharmaceuticals will offer a customized capsule for $1.00 per capsule.
