Lollie’s Closet is the sister company of Community Home Health & Hospice that assists hospice patients and their families with funding to offset any expenses that they incur throughout the duration of their care. Items this organization supplies to patients include handicap ramps, home modifications, medical expenses, and so much more.

All proceeds for the gumbo cook-off will go directly to Lollie’s Closet. You can take part in this fundraising event by entering as a sponsor, cooking team, or vendor booth (prices vary). It will be a full day of fun, cooking, and activities for family and friends to attend. Gates will open at 6am for all cooking teams and 9am to the public. Judging of gumbo will begin at noon. Face painting, balloon artists, fun jumps, and kayaking will be there for the children.

The bands begin at 11am, with music by Johnny Chauvin & the Mojo Band, Vermilion Band, and Jamie Bergeron & The Kickin’ Cajuns. There will be door prizes, a live auction, and awards for best gumbo and people’s choice. Come out and taste some gumbo, listen to live music, and bring the kids to enjoy the activities.
