Community Home Health Gumbo Cook-Off Pets [PHOTOS]
The Community Home Health & Hospice 2nd Annual Gumbo Cook-Off was held this weekend at Sugar Mill Pond, and several people brought their pets!
I love the community events that are pet-friendly, and when communities like Sugar Mill Pond host events, it's easy for residents to walk over with their pets. Here are some of the pics from this weekend's event:
This was the first cutie I happened to see. She was helping Acadiana Dodge cook their award-winning Wild Game gumbo!
These two residents of Sugar Mill Pond were looking for their dad, Louis!
Louis told me that these two Italian Greyhounds are quite active!
This one wanted to get up close and personal with my iPhone.
I am not certain which breed of dog this is, but it kept trying to ram me with its head as I attempted to take its picture. Out of 6 shots, this one came out the best (I still have a small knot on my head!!)
This one, as Darius told me, is a "Two-Legged Yard Dog". I've never seen a dog like this, and its bark was very interesting.
This old fellow was trying to sniff up on everybody!
This one stopped long enough to let me snap this photo, and then he was on his way again, sniffing the ground like he was tracking something!
And, finally, this animal kept going to all the tents at the event asking for more gumbo, and was trying to get free beer from the bartenders. He also kept getting on the stage and barking!
The weather held out for the event, giving people the opportunity to dance to Johnny Chauvin, Vermilion, and Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns. It really was a great day for people to come out and help raise money for Lollie's Closet.
