Just when you think you've heard everything, along comes 'SuperMeat.'

'SuperMeat' is an Israeli - based biotechnology start up that is seeking funding to use chicken cells to grow a chicken breast externally from the chicken itself, meaning no harm would come to the animal. Here's a description of the process:

The proposed technology would organically grow meat in devices that are meant to “mimic natural animal physiology, permitting cost-efficient meat production, free of animal serum.” Scientists would first take a small biopsy sample from a chicken, then separate cells to grow in culture. Once these cells are grown into full-size tissue, the team hopes it will “result in chicken meat indistinguishable from conventional meat in terms of flavor and texture.”

Sounds tasty, right? It would be real chicken meat, after all. SuperMeat hopes its process will revolutionize the food industry and wants to address issues like world hunger and animal cruelty. Watch the video above to learn more about the process and how to help SuperMeat.
