A Colorado mother was ticketed last weekend because she chose to buckle up a can of gas in her child's car seat instead of the baby. From the Colorado Department of Transportation Facebook page: "Unbelievable! This heartbreaking photo was taken by an officer with the Aurora Police Department during 'Click It or Ticket' enforcement last week. Share it to remind everyone that life is precious, so please be responsible and make sure children are properly restrained in the appropriate child safety seat." The baby's mom and teenage sister were also unbuckled.

Louisiana child passengers are protected by law. Child Safety Seat Inspections are conducted every Wednesday at Troop I from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m., or by appointment. Please call Trooper Stephen Hammons at 337-262-1917. You may also e-mail him at Stephen.Hammons@dps.la.gov to schedule an appointment. Many injuries can be prevented by having a properly installed child seat.
