We've not heard much from Coldplay this year, as the band wrapped massive promotion and touring for 'Mylo Xyloto' through the end of 2012. Pop rock fans will have their ears filled with Coldplay music again later this month, as the British band has contributed the brand new song 'Atlas' to 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' soundtrack.

The track will drop via iTunes and at other DSPs on Aug. 26.

Can we get a "Yay!!?"

This song is a special occasion for Coldplay, as it marks the first time that the Chris Martin-fronted band has ever recorded an original song for a motion picture. 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' is easily one of the most anticipated films of the holiday season, so this is a huge splash for the band to make in between albums.

Republic and Lionsgate will release the soundtrack in advance of the film's theatrical bow, which is set for Nov. 22 at multiplexes.

"I have great respect and admiration for Coldplay, and we are thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film," said filmmaker Francis Lawrence in a statement. "Their unwavering passion and excitement for the project elevated the collaboration even further, and we can't wait to share this music with audiences around the world."

We cannot wait to hear it!
