Classic Country Music Singer Near Death

Legendary country music star Merle Haggard has canceled his December dates, his health the issue.

A few weeks ago Merle Haggard went into the hospital near death.  Doctors couldn't tell if the country star had lung cancer or pneumonia.

Haggard said the last couple of weeks have been tough.  If he had not been a stubborn old bull, it would have been fatal.  He should have died.  Backstage during a show in California, it was time for Haggard to go on stage but he just couldn't.  A friend convienced him to check into the hospital.  Turns out he was almost dead.

Haggard claims the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California and his friend, saved his life.
