This is is bound to break Jay Leno's heart, or that of any auto enthusiast. Chrysler Corporation has ordered the destruction of 93 of the first Dodge Vipers ever built. Vipers are rare, and expensive to begin with. The cars being destroyed are pre-production prototypes, making them especially rare, and valuable. They're not street legal. The vehicles were donated to educational institutions for instructional purposes. Two of the cars were reportedly taken onto public streets, and involved in crashes. Since Chrysler still legally owns the cars, they reportedly face millions of dollars in liability. Chrysler representatives have denied this report, yet they've ordered the destruction of all 93 vehicles. Officials at South Puget Sound Community College have been notified they have two weeks to destroy Viper #004. It has 394 miles on the odometer.
