No one was injured, but a fire that started with the heating system likely caused a fire that damaged a Lafayette home on Tezcuco Court Street yesterday.

Cade Harrington got home after 5 yesterday evening, and when he turned on the central heating system, he later smelled and saw smoke coming out the vents.

Everyone got out of the home safely.

Firefighters put out the blaze in about 20 minutes, and the investigation is ongoing into the what happened to cause the heating system to catch fire.
