Eat Lafayette

I was recently treated to a delicious, wholesome lunch @ Sandra's Cafe & Health Food Store, 111 Rena Drive.  Sandra's is a no-frills, homey feeling kind of place, staffed by warm, cordial people.

Lunch At Bailey's Seafood & Grill was a delightful experience. Their Sunday Brunch is to die for! The ambience is delightful, and the service impeccable.  

Rand McNally has named Lafayette, La. "America's Best Small Town For Food" in their "Best Of The Road Rally" for 2011.

Over 50 local restaurants are participating in the "Eat Lafayette" campaign. It's a wonderful program showcasing some of Acadiana's finest local cuisine. You can also register to win a cruise at participating restaurants.

I met with Mr. Gupta at Masala for an evening of delicious Indian fare, great wine, and incredible stories.  If you have a moment to chat with Mr. Gupta (he will usually stop by your table to make sure everything is to your liking), strike up a conversation, and you won't be sorry.

Eat Lafayette is a great opportunity to try new restaurants that you may have passed by in the past, and a reminder to revisit old favorites.  Acadiana's chefs and restaurants are a main reason people drive for miles to dine with us! Our Eat Lafayette Adventures continued at Rochetto's in Scott, and, boy, am I glad we went! Each Rochetto's pizza comes with your choice of hand-tossed or cracker crust and you can choose fresh tomato sauce, olive oil, garlic ricotta, alfredo sauce, bar-b-que sauce or ranch dressing, but they have way more than pizza! Take a  look at our vist with Brady  and his great staff, then head to Rochetto'

Eat Lafayette  is a great opportunity to try new places and revisit old favorites.  Our local restaurants serve up unique cuisine which makes our culture so appetizing.  At Village Cafe, in the River Ranch Town Square, they specialize in fresh, local ingredients.

Bernadette Lee & I had the pleasure of dining at Abacus, 503 W. Pinhook Rd., as part of the Eat Lafayette campaign.  We love having the chance to talk about food, but especially local cuisine, so Eat Lafayette is right up our alley!  Abacus serves a wonderful buffet lunch every weekday.
