Shorter Treatment Period For Breast Cancer May Be Possible

Could a shorter treatment period be in the future for breast cancer patients?

St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, began a research trial this week which provides a concentrated dose of radiation in the exact area where cancer is most likely to return after a breast tumor is removed. Patients in the trial will only receive the radiation for three weeks instead of the usual six.
