Carnival Cruise Lines Brings Newest Ships To New Orleans

Carnival Cruise Line's largest and newest line of ships are coming to New Orleans. Carnival announced Thursday, strong performance and growing consumer demand prompted the move.

The 3,006 passenger Carnival Sunshine will be deployed to New Orleans Nov. 18, replacing the 2,984 passenger Carnival Conquest. She will sail regular seven-day western and eastern Caribbean itineraries from New Orleans through April. Carnival will then re-position the 3,646-passenger Carnival Dream from Port Canaveral, Fla. to the Crescent City. The Carnival Dream will sail year-round, seven-day cruises from New Orleans. The Carnival Sunshine will then re-deploy to Port Canaveral, Fla. The CJ & Debbie Ray Sailaway 2014 may be the best ever.
