Scott police were led on a high speed chase in the early hours of Monday morning. Brandon Dixon was spotted running a stop sign at Hebert Rd. and Dulles Dr. shortly after 2 am. An officer pursued the 20 year old Dixon, who refused to pull over. The  chase eventually reached speeds in excess of 110 mph.
Scott Police Chief Chad Leger says Dixon was driving erratically and the officer slowed his patrol car and chose to pursue from a greater distance. Dixon reportedly passed through the intersection of Rue Du Belier and W. Congress Streets at speeds exceeding 110 mph.

When Dixon approached the roundabout at Rue Du Belier and Ridge Rd., he lost control and hit the center island. The Chevrolet HHR went airborne, and flipped. He exited the overturned vehicle and tried to escape on foot. The police officer caught and arrested him. Dixon was uninjured. He's been charged with aggravated flight, resisting an officer by flight, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving without a license.
