Canada Unveils Plastic Money (Video)

Plastic Money
RICK MADONIK, TORONTO STAR

I’m not talking about credit or debit cards. financial post.com reports The Bank Of Canada will begin issuing polymer bank notes, beginning with the 100 dollar bill, in November.

Counterfeiting is reportedly a very serious problem in Canada, where cash transactions remain much more prevelant than in the U.S. The technology utilized will make these bills extremely difficult to copy. Many businesses have begun refusing to accept 100 dollar bills  The Bank Of Canada and the RCMP are hoping the new Plastic money will solve the problem. A polymer 20 dollar bill is to be issued in 2012.
