The season hasn't even started. Many so-called Who Dats are already writing it off, and calling for Rob Ryan's head. Pre-season means nothing. Was Thursday night's performance unimpressive? Yep! How many starters did you see on the field? The final preseason game is nothing more than a last chance for guys on the bubble to earn a roster spot. A lot of folks are screaming about the secondary. If you don't have an effective pass rush, it doesn't matter who's back there. Yes, there are key injuries.

Over the next few days, all 32 teams will cut rosters from 75 to 53. More than 700 players will be looking for jobs. Some will be released because they just don't have what it takes. Others will get cut in youth movements, and/ or budget cuts. Some capable veterans will certainly be available. They don't have to be able to start 16 games, just plug holes, and provide depth. One parting thought, How did a 7th round pick from Hofstra become the Saints' all time leading receiver? Simple, focus, effort and character. Why did they release their "best" pass rusher? Lack thereof.
