The season is not over for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball team.

The Cajuns (20-13) have accepted an invitation to play in the College Insider Tournament and will travel to the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

The game will be Tuesday night at 7pm at the McDermott Convocation Center on the UIW campus.

Incarnate Word (18-10) finished fifth in the Southland Conference.  However, since they are transitioning from a non-D1 school, they were not eligible for the Southland Championship and therefore did not play in the Southland Conference Tournament.

The Cardinals used the McDermott Center as a home court advantage this season, winning eleven of thirteen home games.  They are led by first team All-Southland guard Denzel Livingston, who led UIW in scoring, averaging 22 points per game.  The 6-4 senior from Houston also averaged six rebounds and three assists per contest.  Three other players averaged double figures for the Cardinals, who averaged nearly 80 points per game during the season.  UIW shot 47 percent from the field, 37 percent from beyond the arc and 73 percent from the free throw line.

The CIT is a 32 team tournament made up of teams from non-power five conferences.  Like the old format of the NIT, there is no advance bracket.  Pairings are made for each round after the results of the preceding round are known.

This will be the Cajuns' second appearance in the CIT.  They fell to Rice in the first round after the 2011-12 season.

The Cajuns were unable to host the first round because the Cajundome is unavailable and Blackham Coliseum would need improvements that could not be completed in time.
