The thought coming into this game was that the Ole Miss Rebels would be a handful offensively for the Ragin' Cajuns to contain defensively.

Then, you had the surprise one game suspensions of running back Trey Ragas, defensive end Joe Dillon, defensive back Damar'ren Mitchell, and offensive lineman Robert Hunt. These suspensions were due to an incident in which these players were involved with during the summer. In addition, tight end Chase Rogers was out as he broke his foot in practice leading up to the game.

In this one the Rebels got the ball first and went right down the field and scored, putting the pressure immediately on the Cajuns.

After a blank possession and another score accounted for by quarterback Jordan Ta'amu it was a 14-0 lead, the pressure grew....

The Cajuns offense with Levi Lewis under center stalled again and again the Rebels got the ball back with the opportunity to put more points on the board. This time Jordan Ta'amu would do it with his legs for an 8 yard score. 21-0 Rebels

UL just couldn't stop the bleeding and before you knew it Ole Miss had ANOTHER unanswered score on the board, making it 28-0 at the very beginning of the second quarter.

The Cajuns and Coach Mark Hudspeth were desperately searching for answers. Finally they would find a few with a couple big completions for Ja'Marcus Bradley and a chunck run by running back Raymond Calais who would finish it off to get UL on the board, 28-7.

However, the Jordan Ta'amu onslaught would not stop as he and the Rebels came right back with a touchdown of their own. It would be a one yard run for Ta'amu to account for his fifth touchdown of the first half!

We went into the half at 35-10 Rebels.

The Ragin' Cajuns were looking to come out of the locker room strong but when the drive stalled at the Ole Miss 26 yard line to open the third quarter you thought you'd have at least three points. On the contrary, kicker Stevie Artigue took the wind right out of their sails by missing a chip-shot field goal that would have given the team a good feeling to open the second half.

Unfortunately from there the Rebels made the Cajuns pay for their transgression when running back Jordan Wilkins got in on the scoring action and made it 42-10.

Levi Lewis would sustain a high ankle sprain in the third quarter. So, once again the quarterback carousel was in motion, enter Jordan Davis.

Davis looked a little bit rusty passing the football, where he missed on a couple of deep balls but his legs looked just fine and that was important to see. Davis has been battling a knee injury since the loss at Texas A&M early on in the season.

He would scamper in for a 10 and 31 yard score that would pull the Cajuns to within 20 points at 42-22. However, that's as close as they would come.

Ole Miss would add one more score, plus a two point conversion to make it an even 50 points.

That would end up being your final, the Ole Miss Rebels defeat the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, 50-22.

With this loss the Cajuns fall to 4-5 on the season.

Up next for the Ragin' Cajuns will be Homecoming out at Cajun Field on Saturday November 18th at 4pm.
