For the last 10 years Cajundome management has raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Acadiana. This year they've borrowed a great idea from Boston. The Cajundome will auction off the name of the facility on EBAY for Mardi Gras weekend. In 2004, when the Bank of America acquired the FleetBoston Financial company and withdrew its exclusive naming rights to the Boston FleetCenter, home of the Celtics and Bruins, the 10 year old
arena would have no name and had to scramble for a solution. From their name rights problem was born a great charity fund raising idea.  February 17 – 21 the Cajundome will sport a new name. Bidding will be open to any INDIVIDUAL, GROUP OR BUSINESS and the highest bidder will name the arena anything they want as long as it isn’t profane or offensive. Bidding will start at $500 and open Sunday, February 5th and close Tuesday, February 14th. What a great Valentine’s gift!! What a great memory!! What a great marriage proposal!! You get the idea... It’s your DOME, in name only, for five days!!
The winner will receive naming rights on the marquee for the 5 days of Mardi Gras (Friday thru Tuesday), and VIP tickets to all ticketed events in March. All proceeds willgo to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Acadiana. You can check it out on Ebay or go ahead and place your bid now.
