The Louisiana Office of Tourism and Oxford American Magazine present 'Cajun Seasoning: Zydeco Rhythms in the Heart of Acadiana' April 20. It's part of a series of Louisiana Soundtrack Experience events being held throughout the state this year. The day-long program is free and open to the public! It takes place at the Acadiana Center for the Arts and at Parc Sans Souci on Saturday, April 20 starting at 2 p.m. with a panel discussion on preserving our rich musical heritage in the ACA’s James D. Moncus Theater. The panel will be moderated by Oxford American Louisiana Music issue guest editor Alex Rawls. Panelists are Dr. Barry Ancelet (Cajun folklorist), Herman Fuselier (editor, writer and host of a Zydeco music radio show), Louis Michot (Cajun fiddler with The Lost Bayou Ramblers) and Yvette Landry (musician, author and educator). Following the discussion, Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne and BP America will present "Sunshine By The Stars: Celebrating Louisiana Music,” starring Harry Connick Jr. The film features Louisiana’s biggest music stars performing versions of You Are My Sunshine, originally recorded by Gov. Jimmie Davis. Some of the musicians in the film are The Marsalis Family, Better Than Ezra, Tim McGraw, Rebirth Brass Band, Trombone Shorty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Guy, Buckwheat Zydeco, Irma Thomas, Zachary Richard, Zion Harmonizers and Mickey Gilley.

The day culminates with a live music concert in Parc Sans Souci 6:30–8:30 p.m. Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy the concert by GRAMMY nominated Corey Ledet. Ledet’s most recent recording with Anthony Dopsie and André Thierry, “Nothin’ But The Best,” received the nod for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards in the Best Regional Roots Music Album category.
