Bystander Fires On Man Trying To Shoot A Woman

Lafayette Police say they have arrested 25-year-old Donovan George after police say he tried to fire a gun at a woman but was stopped by a bystander.

Police say they were called out to the 300 block of Doc Duhon Street to find two men had non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say that George was attempting to shoot a woman when a bystander pulled out his gun and shot George along with another man at the scene.

George was arrested for Attempted Second Degree Murder, and police say that charges could come against the man who was with George.

The man who shot in defense of the woman will not be charged.
